Action and adventure away from the slopes
There are few winter experiences as magical as hiking through a beautiful alpine landscape covered with a thick layer of fresh snow. Snowshoe hiking is a great way to escape the busy slopes and discover the Alps from a new perspective. The fresh mountain air and sound of snow crunching under foot will accompany you as you explore the meadows and forests of the Arlberg region. There are more than 40 kilometres of winter hiking trails in the area.
After a long hike out in the cold air, what better way to relax than with a drink and a snack on a sunny terrace at one of the traditional huts serving local food?
Sport and silence in one
There is much more to a winter holiday in Lech than just skiing and snowboarding. Cross-country skiing is a very popular sport which combines physical activity in the fresh mountain air with total peace and quiet.
The Arlberg region boasts 27 kilometres of perfectly groomed cross-country skiing trails catering for all abilities and both of the two main techniques: the traditional "classic" style and the more modern and dynamic "skating" style.
Tip! All the cross-country skiing trails in the area can be used free of charge.
Tobogganing & Ice Skating
The 1.2 km toboggan run between Lech and Oberlech is ideal for families with children. The fun starts with a four-minute ride up to the top of the run on the cable car. Once at the top, it is time to hop on the toboggan and zoom back down into the valley.
Fans of ice skating will find a 300 m² indoor ice rink at the Hotel Monzabon. Visitors can choose between ice skating and traditional Austrian curling. Both activities are ideal for families.
Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides
Wrapped up tight in a warm winter blanket, there is no better way to experience Lech than in a horse-drawn carriage.
As you slowly make your way through the village and ou tinto the surrounding landscape there is plenty of time to marvel at the snowy mountains and majestic views.
The ideal winter activity for couples and families that guarantees memories for a lifetime.
Our tip! Take a horse-drawn carriage ride with Josef into the romantic Zugertal Valley – for information and bookings please speak to a member of staff at reception.
